I've gone through cheaper, flimsier stands that eventually failed. This one is built to last. The materials and design are superior.
My old makeshift stand was unstable. This one locks into place firmly and provides a rock-solid platform. The saw doesn't shift during cuts, which leads to much cleaner, more accurate miters. The difference in cut quality is noticeable.
