Reviews
For a first furnace, this checks all the boxes: sturdy build, serious heat, and all the gear you need to get started without extra shopping trips.
I’ve been melting down old rims and random scrap into clean ingots. Feels good to turn junk into something useful, and the furnace keeps up easily.
I've seen furnaces in use before, but this is my first time using one. I was completely satisfied with the experience. Really good results without much effort.I'd rate the quality of the furnace as good C even has a ceramic heat shield around where the torch flame enters the furnace to help protect the joint and surrounding housing from turning red-hot. I don't think all furnaces like this come with that added protection.Took only a few minutes to set up. There is a simple process for preparing the crucible for first use (instructions included), but after that it's pretty straightforward: crank up the heat until your metal has melted.I opted for old copper pipe scraps on my first go-round and after about ten minutes in the furnace, it was all set to pour into the included ingot mold. (I did preheat the mold with a plumbing torch, though.)Long term, consumables are just propane and crucibles.
The stainless steel body really feels solid. I think this furnace will last me for years of weekend projects.
Heats up super quick and gets hot enough to melt aluminum in no time. I like how evenly it melts scrap without hot spots.
I’ve never done metal melting before, but this kit made it super approachable. The instructions were clear and I felt safe using it right away.
I used this to melt 1062 cans (so far) and got 19 pounds of pure aluminum. Very easy to use and was a lot of fun.
Excellent value for the money. I used the furnace for the first time to recycle aluminum from cans and had no problems. It is a great tool for people who are just starting to cast or recycle scrap metal. I also followed the instructions and online tutorials and the results were not rushed, so I am very happy.
The melting furnace works great. There are some preps that need to be done prior to the first burn, once it is done, the furnace works great and due to its compact design, the crucible and internal temperature increases very fast. This is a great unit if you are just starting and if this is your first time trying to get into melting metal.
I bought this to melt aluminum cans. Assembly was easy. All the parts were in the box and they all work together well. They suggest you use the provided, heavy duty gloves when lighting the fire, but they're too thick to use with a fireplace starter, so I used my bare hand and ended up singeing the hair on my hand. Oh well. I've only done one melting session and I have to get better technique because there was a bunch of aluminum when I removed it. Overall, it works and I like it.
