I picked up this GARVEE self-cleaning litter box a few weeks ago, and honestly, it's been a solid upgrade for our multi-cat household. The biggest win is definitely the hands-free cleaning—it automatically scoops after each use, and the 10L waste drawer means I only have to deal with it once a week or so, which is a lifesaver for a busy schedule .The app control is actually useful, not just a gimmick. I can check when it's full, monitor which cat is using it, and even adjust the cleaning schedule from anywhere . The safety features are also a big relief—it has sensors that stop the rake immediately if a cat jumps in . It does need a 2.4G WiFi connection , which wasn't an issue for me, but something to note if you have a newer dual-band router. My only minor gripes are that it's a bit pricey upfront and pretty bulky at about 26 inches tall, so definitely measure your space first . But for the convenience and less frequent scooping, I'd say it's absolutely worth it.
I have never had a self-cleaning cat litter box before and this automatic smart pet litter box is really great! It was not difficult to figure out how to use and getting the app set up was very straightforward, luckily.I really love that everything is programmed and ready to go. It will empty the contents 10 minutes after the cat uses the litter box. That time can be changed in the app but that is the already programmed setting and it seems to work great for me. I may change it to 5 minutes later on, but for now the 10 minute setting is ok. What surprised me the most was there is hardly any noise at all! The litter box does move slowly when emptying so I think that helps cut down on the noise level. My cat is not in the litter box all day so it doesn't really matter if it takes a couple minutes to empty between uses. My cat got used to the new litter box pretty fast, which is great and this self-cleaning litter box cuts down on odors dramatically! I love it!What was super surprising to me was how fast my cat used the litter box after setting it up. I left the room and a couple minutes later my cat went in and then stayed 40 seconds and came back out. Less than a minute later my cat went in and stayed 1 minute 42 seconds and then the litter box cleaned itself 10 minutes after that. A half hour later I decided to check my app and was so surprised to see that my cat was already using the box. I went down to check the box and sure enough there were both poop and potty clumps in the lower sealed bin underneath. My kitty did both within 10 minutes of the new self-cleaning litter box being set up. It is even completely different litter I am using in this litter box. I wasn't sure if my cat would even like the new type of litter but hurray! She does! There is a fan with a duct that can be used if the box is near a window, but the box has a cover for the hole where the fan and duct would go if you are not placing the litter box near a window. I would love to fan the air inside the litter box outside but my box is not in a location to do that. I am glad that the fan and ducting is an option, but that you can also use the litter box without the fan in windowless bathroom like I have. With the hole covered, I get better odor control in the closed space which is great. The directions say to take everything apart and deep clean every 2 weeks for optimal odor control and cleanliness of the litter box. I see myself actually doing this monthly instead of every 2 weeks. The litter must be changed every two weeks, though, and I will definitely do that. It is just the taking everything apart and deep cleaning all the components that I can't see myself getting to except once a month.I will say that the deep cleaning is part of helping keep reduced odor. The litter box is self-cleaning as far as removing cat waste into a separate bin, but bacteria can always build up if not cleaned on a timely basis. That can lead to bad odors and an unhealthy atmosphere for humans and pets in the area. It is much safer and healthier to just get in the routine of deep cleaning the litter box on a timely basis, even if you do it once a month instead of the recommened every 2 weeks. This GARVEE self-cleaning cat litter box works so amazingly well AND keeps track of your cat's or cats' bathroom usage. It is a lifesaver! You must have space for it and it cannot go up directly touching a wall so ensure you leave space around the unit, as well, or you will have issues with this litter box.I highly recommend the GARVEE self-cleaning cat litter box! I am so happy to be able to not worry about the litter box when I am gone working all day and if I have to leave for an overnight trip. Everything is taken care of!
I’ve always wanted to try a self-cleaning litter box, but two things stopped me: the price and, more importantly, fear that something could happen to my cats. I finally had the opportunity to try this GARVEE, and I absolutely love it. This is my first automatic litter box, so I can’t compare it to others, but I wish I had tried one sooner. My biggest concern was safety, and seeing how this actually operates has really put my mind at ease. The drum moves incredibly slowly, there’s nothing sharp inside, and I don’t see any obvious place for a cat to get caught. I would never claim that any automatic device is completely risk-free, but I feel very comfortable with this one. It also has a sensitive entrance sensor that stops the cycle if a cat approaches. Mine will stop when a cat simply starts to enter.I have two cats, and although they’ve transitioned to it without any problem, I’ve temporarily turned off automatic cleaning while we all get completely comfortable with it. I simply run it through the app a couple times a day when I know they’re not around. Eventually I’ll probably let it run automatically, but I really appreciate having complete control over it.My cats were already accustomed to a large, completely enclosed planter-style litter box, so that probably helped with the transition. I later tried moving their litter box into the cabinet underneath a cat tree, but that didn’t go well. Urine occasionally got outside the stainless steel pan and underneath it against the wooden cabinet, and maneuvering a large litter pan in and out was a pain. For some price perspective, I probably paid $60–$70 for that old planter litter box and another $35–$40 just for the stainless steel pan I put inside the cabinet. After spending that much on regular litter-box setups, I think paying a little extra for everything this does is absolutely worth it.The inside is roomy enough for my cats, and they’re not making nearly as much of a mess as I expected. They do drag litter out, because apparently cat litter must travel throughout the house no matter what kind of box you own. The entrance is also a fairly high step, so I plan to buy a litter-catching step for the front. That should make getting in and out easier as they age while hopefully catching some of the litter.Definitely obey the MAX litter line! I like giving my cats lots of clean litter, so naturally I decided more would be better and filled it higher. The machine promptly dumped the extra clean litter into the waste compartment. I scooped a bunch out and back into its box. Lesson learned. The maximum really is the maximum, so don’t waste your litter trying to overfill it. I left some of the clean litter it dumped into the waste compartment because I figured it might even help absorb odor. Whether it does or not, I can’t say, but I’m smelling absolutely nothing from this unit. There is also a ventilation fan. I’ve heard it referred to as an air purifier in another review, but it isn’t an air purifier; it’s simply a fan. I still really like having it because it draws air through the enclosed space, and I like the idea of the cats having some fresher air while they’re inside. The app is another huge plus. This uses TUYA, and I already have two unrelated devices from other brands using the same app, so thankfully this wasn’t yet another app to add to my phone. I’ve always found TUYA reliable, straightforward and easy to use. With the litter box, I can see how often my cats use it and their recorded weights. I can’t verify that the weight is exact, but it appears very close based on what I know my cats weigh. I actually love being able to see how often they’re using the box…and with the different weights I know which one used it and when.Cleaning is surprisingly easy. The large lightweight canopy releases from the back and lifts off, then you slide a simple lock out of the way and lift out the drum. I can take the drum to the bathtub, clean and wipe everything, then put it right back together. I’ve already disassembled and reassembled it several times, and once you understand how it works, it’s very simple. The instructions, however, could definitely be better. The first time I tried removing the canopy, I couldn’t tell what the release button was actually doing and didn’t want to force anything and break it. It doesn’t really click like a traditional release button; you’re basically pushing the plastic tab away from where it catches. I strongly recommend watching some of the video reviews before taking it apart the first time. Once you see how it works, it’s easy.Funny enough, even with the extra step of removing the drum, I find this easier to clean and reassemble than my old planter litter box. That one only had a top and bottom, but getting the huge top lined up and latched correctly was always a pain.If you watch my video—and actually want to spend about five minutes watching an automatic litter box run—you may notice some urine toward the back where one of my cats...
I thought these self cleaning liter boxes were overkill or a gimmicky device and never considered getting one before now. But we’ve been using this one from GARVEE for only a few days and honestly, I’m so impressed! It’s a fantastic upgrade for us and makes this dreaded chore a lot more manageable. It only took a short time for the cats to get in and use to it. They were inspecting it and curious right away and by the second day, they were using it every time. It goes to work right after the cats use it and dumps the dirty litter into the tray below it, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning it every day. The 70 liter size is great for my two cats and I don’t have to empty the waste drawer as often as I expected. It’s a smart device and works with the Tuya app, which we already had been using for our washer and dryer, so it’s is super handy to check status and how often the cats are using it. It will even run a cleaning cycle when we’re not home. It’s really quiet and I barely notice it running and it doesn’t bother the cats at all. And best of all, it definitely controls the smell! It seems like a good quality unit, is sturdy and easy to keep clean. It was easy to assemble too. The instructions are pretty straightforward. It requires the unit to be placed near an electrical outlet and on a level surface, since it has pressure and weight sensors. Both the box and the fan require electricity but they come with the necessary cords. It’s easy to operate and has an instruction booklet as well as an instruction label right on the unit, near the control panel.Overall, this thing has made life a lot easier for us. If you don’t have one of these, I highly encourage you to try this one. It’s worth every penny!
I couldn't wait to set up this high tech cat box for our solo adult cat, Cash. The thing looks huge but actually fits in the corner of the small room where Cash does his business. Set up doesn't take long at all and it doesn't do a thing until you put cat litter in it. Then it slowly rotates back and forth once to level the litter, which it does perfectly. Then came the waiting game. Cash prefers an enclosed cat box, but he has a tendency to get freaked out by autonomous machines, so that was our only doubt that it would work for him. After two days, Cash used the box only once and unfortunately our doubts were confirmed. He spent the rest of the weekend peering at the cat box from around the corner with fear in his eyes and keeping his distance. We couldn't do it to the guy, had to switch back to his old box. But this cat box functioned to the letter and we think it's the coolest thing. If your cat or cats aren't fraidy cats like Cash, go for it. It's the cheapest price I've seen for a self cleaning cat box of this type.
I'll admit, electric litter boxes still make me nervous. But so far, so good with this. The cats aren't afraid of it like one was with the older-style self-sifting boxes (rake-style). You should know though, this thing is massive. So make sure you have the space for it. And you might want a larger step in front if you have large cats. One of ours was a bit hesitant to climb in.I have mixed feelings. The odor control and not having to drop everything to scoop immediately is nice. Not sure I love the cats having to climb to use it though, especially with older cats. Not sure I prefer it over the big stainless steel boxes that are quick and easy to clean, and it's definitely a pricey option. But if you're not home all day to scoop, this could be very good for your cats, keeping their box clean even when you're not around. Overall, it seems like a quality option, and we haven't had problems. And perhaps the neatest part is the app. Feels like we're spying on the little beasties a bit, but given we have a cat who gets frequent UTIs, knowing how often she's using the box and whether there are any changes in behavior is well worth it.
This is a litter box game changer!
Somehow we went from one cat to four after rescuing a pair of Siamese kittens left under a bridge. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Felt like I could t keep up with the little box and afraid my house smelled like pee. That’s when I decided to try something different. What sold me on this one, besides the large capacity, is that I can use my regular clumping litter in it. I don’t have to switch to some other expensive kind. The exhaust fan is really helpful too. The machine was easy to put together and get set up. It comes with an app that was easy to set up as well. I still can’t believe a litter box has an app but that’s the Gen X in me. Anyway, it’s really cute and the cats seem to like it so I’m happy with it. Oh I also like that the instructions are printed on the lid on top because I forget things more often than I care to admit.
Easy to use and you can not smell cat litter at all!!
So far I love this thing.my fur baby likes it as well.
