I haul project cars and this box stores straps, a winch remote, and hand tools. It’s super convenient when loading at night or in bad weather.

Installed this GARVEE 39" aluminum tongue box on my trailer and it’s been an excellent value. The aluminum is a bit thinner than some of the “premium/heavy” boxes, but for normal trailer use it feels plenty sturdy and I don’t see a practical need for thicker unless you’re trying to build a vault.It fit nicely on the tongue, holds a surprising amount (my bottom is loaded with binders, plus straps/tie-downs and other gear), and it seals up well. The latch/handle works smoothly, closes easily, and the lock has been solid so far. I also like the gas shock assist—lift the handle and the lid pops open cleanly.One detail I didn’t expect to appreciate: the lid/hinge area is recessed so the lid opens within its own footprint, which helps if you have something close behind the box. Finish looks great in gloss black, and overall it worked as it should right out of the box.Like any aluminum tongue box, I treat it as organized storage + basic deterrence (not a high-security safe), but for the price it’s hard to beat.

After a few months of use with zero issues—no leaks, no rust, no latch problems—I’d buy this same Garvee box again in a heartbeat.

The latch doesn’t stick, and both keys worked right out of the box. It’s nice having a toolbox that actually locks reliably.
